Toongabbie West Activity Centre

At Toongabbie West Activity Centre, we want every child and family to feel welcome, valued and part of our community. We provide Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care in a safe, inclusive and friendly environment where children can relax, have fun, build friendships and simply be themselves.

Our Before and After School Care programs provide a relaxed space where children can enjoy breakfast, afternoon tea, play with friends, take part in activities and unwind before or after their school day. During the school holidays, our Vacation Care program comes alive with exciting themed days, incursions, excursions, creative activities, sports, challenges, games and hands-on experiences. We listen to children’s interests and ideas when planning our programs, making sure there is something for everyone and plenty of opportunities for children to try something new, have fun and create great memories.

We believe children learn best when they are interested, engaged and given opportunities to have a say in what they do. Our program is guided by children’s interests and ideas, with a mix of child-led play, intentional learning experiences, creative activities, skill-building, group experiences and plenty of opportunities to explore and have fun. We follow the My Time, Our Place (MTOP) framework to support children’s confidence, independence, creativity and social development.

We also understand that every child is different. We make a real effort to have a consistent team of educators at our service, so children see familiar faces and can build strong, trusting relationships with the educators who care for them. Our educators take the time to get to know each child, including their individual needs, interests and personality. We believe having familiar educators helps children feel safe, comfortable and confident while they are in our care.

We work closely with families because we believe that when families and educators work together, children feel more secure, confident and connected. We value open communication with families and welcome their ideas, feedback and involvement in our service.

Behind the scenes, our leadership team works hard to make sure Toongabbie West Activity Centre is a place where children, families and educators feel supported.

We are always looking for ways to improve and make our service better. We listen to feedback from children, families and educators, reflect on what we do and work together to make positive changes.

Our team is supported to share ideas, develop their skills and work together to provide the best possible experiences for the children in our care. We take our responsibilities seriously, while also believing that a strong team, open communication and a positive workplace make a big difference.
