Service Support Coordinator - Full Time - Start February 2019 - applications close 9th November 2018

Service Support Coordinator, Full Time 38 hours per week  Start date 4/2/19 (negotiable)

This Position will suit an experienced Coordinator who is able to easily adapt to change.

Start and finish times will vary each day anytime between 6.30am and 6.30pm , depending on what shifts have been allocated and will be made up of contact and non contact time.

Applicant must;

  • be available for flexible shifts between 6.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday
  • have a license and own vehicle as you will need to move from Centre to Centre, sometimes at very short notice.

Position Objective

  • To assist and support the Management team in ensuring that the Organisation is operating within all relevant Government Laws.
  • To work collaboratively with the Manager and Assistant Manager assisting them with any reasonable tasks that supports the smooth operation of the Organisation
  • To coordinate the development, review and updates of the Organisation’s policies and procedures ensuring they meet current legislative requirements.
  • To coordinate the development, review and delivery of the Quality Improvement Plans for each Service, ensuring that each Service is operating within the current guidelines of the Education and Care Services National Regulations.
  • To work collaboratively with the Coordinators, Educational Leaders and Educators within the Organisation and being actively involved in the day to day running of each Service and working as part of their ratios on a regular basis to make sure you understand current routines and are able to actively assist with setting and achieving the goals set within each Quality Improvement Plan.
  • To support the Coordinators and Educational Leaders in mentoring and motivating the teams to ensure the development of the educational program meets the needs and interests of the children as per the National Quality Framework (My Time our Place) and the National Quality Standards (NQS) current requirements.
  • To be aware of the duties of each of our Coordinators so you can cover their shifts when they are on leave.
  • To ensure that our philosophy, policies and procedures are being followed and implemented by all Staff throughout the Organisation, reporting any non-compliance to Management.
  • To assist and support new Staff through the orientation process at each Service.
  • To assist in the Assessment & Rating process.

Essential Criteria

  • Current working with children check
  • An approved and accredited child protection certificate
  • Current first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis certificate
  • Experience as a Coordinator in an OOSH Service
  • Diploma of School Age Education and Care or equivalent and/or working towards a relevant qualification
  • A strong working knowledge of, and experience in outside school hours care.
  • Experience and knowledge working with computers and relevant software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A strong working knowledge of;
  • Education and Care Services National Law
  • Education and Care Services National Regulations
  • National Quality Standards (NQS)
  • My Time Our Place (MTOP)
  • Knowledge and skills of CCS approved software (Qikkids) or the commitment to learn
  • Commitment to further learning & development of knowledge & skills eg. Inservices, training, qualifications.

 

  • The ability to;
    • do research, organise, and complete administrative tasks within reasonable timeframes
    • develop and review policies and ensure they comply with relevant Government legislations.
    • to lead each Service team in the development and review of the Service Quality Improvement Plans and supporting them to work through the goals set out, including follow up notes etc.
    • show initiative, self-direction and work independently completing tasks by due dates.
    • motivate small and large teams

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for leading the development, review and implementation of;

  • Policies and Procedures for the Organisation, ensuring they are compliant with current legislation.
  • Quality Improvement Plans for each Service.
  • Risk Assessments for each Service, including risk benefit analysis.
  • Medical management plans, including risk minimisation.

You will be required to:

  • Cover the shifts of Coordinators at each Service when they are on leave
  • Work at each Service on a regular basis to ensure you are familiar with Service routines
  • Work collaboratively with the Management team and any other relevant departments to ensure the Organisation is operating within the terms of its license
  • Work in collaboration with the Coordinators, Educational Leaders and Educators to develop and implement Regulatory & National Quality Standards (NQS) requirements and compliance, including Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and Assessment & Rating (A&R) preparation and review.

You will be required to demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of:

  • Education and Care Services National Law

  • National Quality Standards (NQS)
  • My Time Our Place Framework (MTOP)
  • Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
  • Shift responsibilities and expectations
  • Legislative requirements

Mentoring and other responsibilities include

  • demonstrate initiative, strong team leadership skills & professional behaviour at all times
  • follow daily routines & shift responsibilities
  • model a positive attitude and promote the readiness to learn something new, discuss new ideas with Staff showing them that there are often different ways of achieving similar outcomes.
  • complete and return all feedback forms or evaluations sent out by the Management by the due date.
  • Build and maintain positive relations with all Staff and work as a mentor to ensure our Staff feel supported in their roles within the Organisation
  • The thorough Orientation of new Staff into each Service following up with them to ensure they feel supported during their probation period.
  • Support and mentor Staff in their roles to ensure;
  • the development of a quality program based on MTOP and NQF and implemented at each Service.
  • that all Staff are actively working through the Quality Improvement Plan
  • the cycle of planning is embedded into daily practices.
  • the Educational Leaders are programming to comply with QA1 of the NQS and the program is inclusive and includes activities that not only meet the interests of the children but promotes the development of motor skills, social interactions and general wellbeing.
  • active engagement with the children during the implementation of the program is being maintained by Staff.
  • Educational Leaders have the skills to liaise with Educators especially when following up with  evaluations or sensitive issues.
  • Staff are able to implement positive behaviour learning (PBL) and guide children’s behaviour in a positive way according to sound developmentally appropriate practice – teaching them that actions have consequences encouraging children to make the right choices in relation to their behaviour, and understanding their individual circumstances and abilities.
  • contribute to reflective practices as outlined in My Time Our Place Framework
  • health and safety is embedded into the daily routines and practices, this includes having risk assessments and medical management plans in place

 

Permanent Educator - 20 hours - Start January 2019

Permanent Educator 20 hours per week – Start date – 29th January 2019 (Negotiable)

We are currently looking for a Permanent Educator to join our OOSH team, 20 hours per week, (maybe 30 hours depending on enrolments)

Hours will be from 2.30pm to 6.30pm during school term time, it may also include morning shifts 7am to 9am, pending new enrolments , (30 hours per week)
